Berndīs career spans 34 years in the travel industry. In 1976, he became Marketing Manager of Neckermann/Thomas Cook, the leading tour operator for holiday travel, conferences and conventions, owned by Lufthansa. In 1980, he joined American Express Europe Ltd. and held various positions within Corporate Services during his 14 years tenure, including Vice President & General Manager Germany, Austria, Switzerland, running Amex business travel agenies and corporate card payment programs, and Member of the European Management Board.

Bernd joined Trust Management Consultants GmbH in 1994 as managing partner and shareholder and developed the first travel management consulting services in Germany. In 1999, he became majority shareholder and was elected Senior Partner. Today, Bernd runs the leading independent travel management consulting firm in Continental Europe, servicing a multitude of national and multinational clients of all industry types and sizes by providing travel and expense management guidance, with specific expertise in travel concept development, process flow analysis, savings identification, expense reporting, corporate and purchasing card programs, implementation support, benchmarking, travel purchasing, online booking tools, RFPīs, post-implementation evaluation, change management, training courses and leadership coaching.

Bernd is an active member of VDR (German travel management association) as well as ACTE and received degrees from Heidelberg University and an MBA degree from Mannheim International Business School.

DENIS CAMPBELL

Denis began his career in travel management with the Exxon Corporation in the UK and was the Travel Manager there from 1986 – 1995. He worked closely with his US and Canadian counterparts to develop the Exxon travel programme.

He was voted the first UK Corporate Travel Manager of the Year in 1995, the same year he set up his own consultancy business to advise Corporate clients on the procurement of Business Travel.

Denis joined the MSIG team in 2002, as the UK representative.

As a trainer, Denis runs Buying Business Travel Courses for the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply, the UK’s premier Buyers organization.

 Following studies on Social Pedagogy, Winfried started his career in the Travel Industry back in 1973. In 1978 he became Office Manager with Schenker Travel Agency in Bonn at a time when Bonn was still the capitol of Germany.

In 1985 he joined Thomas Cook as a Managing Director driving the expansion from 36 Retail Agencies to 150 by 1994.

When American Express acquired the Business Travel arm of Thomas Cook on a global basis, Winfried was hired to run the German business travel activities for American Express starting 1995. Very soon, he moved up to run American Express Business Travel as a Vice President & General Manager with P+L responsibility in various countries including Central, Southern and Eastern Europe as well as Middle East, Russia and the CIS.

Beginning of 2009 Winfried joined Trust Management Consultants as a Partner and was asked to also act as a Board Member.

Trust Management Consultants today is the leading independent travel management consulting firm in Continental Europe, servicing a multitude of national and multinational clients of all industry types and sizes.

Given his experience in the international arena.

Winfried has vast experience in all facets of travel management including supplier negotiations, travel policy, controlling, payment solutions, MIS, with all variations as they still exist in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

He has an excellent understanding of P+L drivers for TMC’s and Card companies across the region and the globe.

As well as an excellent understanding of the cultural differences influencing the business in the region.

Winfried is an active Member of ACTE and of VDR-(German Travel Managers Association) including a position as a lecturer at the VDR-Academy

He is a frequent speaker and panelist at a variety of industry forums in the region and is regularly interviewed and featured in numerous articles in trade publications.
